Our class visit to the stone cottage

On Tuesday we all were so excited to visit the stone cottage, which is across the road from our school and our time to go was 10:00. We walked across the road and went around the stone house because Room 2 were still busy inside.

In the first room that we went into the cottage was the parlour  with all of the artefacts and the next room that we went to was the bedroom that Phoebe Dunn had slept in. In the old days they had this hot water box made  out of pottery to keep their feet warm at night. It was filled with hot water.

Then we all went into the kitchen and Terry showed us bellows that  were used to keep the fire burning and after that we all went upstairs to the two other bedrooms and in the first room upstairs it was the room that the boys slept in in the old days.

The next room that we went into was the room that Phoebe Dunn’s children slept in. I thought it was interesting that the stone cottage used to be in Mt Wellington where McDonalds is now.

This was one of the best times that I’ve had at school this year because it  was so fun to learn about how they lived in the old days and at the end we all took a photo in front of the cottage.

My holidays

During the holidays my mum and my sister were in the Cook Islands and that is why I had to stay at my aunt’s house for the holidays.

Once I was outside playing with my other sisters on the balcony. On thursday my Aunty and my nana and I went to my sister’s music concert. It was in Otara and I enjoyed it very much. She plays the cello very well.

Next we went to my other sister’s Tongan dance at their school hall and at the end of all of the dances there was food. On Saturday I went with my sister Ana and Fatima and my nana and my 2 aunties to play mini golf. After that we got some Ice cream and then we went to the park and played for 20 minutes. Unfortunately I tried to climb a wall but I hurt my head when I fell.

On Sunday my aunty and uncle and I we went to the warehouse and we got me some crocs and some halloween stuff and after that we went to the movie theatre and later we went to the arcade and we won a bluetooth speaker and some candy and a  new gaming headset and controllers.

In conclusion when I look back at the holidays I think I had the best holidays ever because I was busy doing fun things with my family.

My Swimming Experiences.

Children at St Patrick’s School have been lucky enough to go to swimming lessons over the past two weeks. Everyday we had to bring our togs, a towel and goggles. We changed and headedto the bus that was waiting to take us to the CLM pool.

My favourite swimming stroke is freestyle and now I know how to turn my head to the side and breathe properly. I enjoyed partnering with Patrick when one of us had to jump into the pool, pretending we were drowning. I threw a life jacket to him and then Lee gave us the Rescue Bag to throw to Patrick. I helped to bring Patrick back to the edge of the pool. At the end of each lesson we could do our favourite jump into the pool. My favourite was a Manu. I really enjoyed swimming this year.

My writing about Storm Boy.

I am young even but I am not childish. I have never been to school but I know alot about the world. I live on the beach which is 90 miles long and on the Coorong. My dad is called  Hideaway Tom because he is quiet and keeps to himself. We do not bother people from town or different cities nearby but we do like to sell cockles and fish to them sometimes. I like being outside in storms and the rain because it makes me feel peaceful.

I am………………………………………….. Storm Boy.
